Say no more, right? Not only does Trader Joe’s sell Sticky Toffee Pudding during the holidays but also you can find all sorts of things that are irresistible….especially when you break the CARDINAL RULE of NO GROCERY SHOPPING WHEN YOU ARE HUNGRY. That rule should be modified to include the language, ESPECIALLY AT TRADER JOE’S.
I was scooping up every unique item I could find to make things feel more festive when family returns home to the next. Truffle Goat Cheese (they call it Chèvre because even though the rest of the name is in English, they want you to appreciate the Frenchness of it (!), said Sticky Toffee Pudding (which required two trips to the store because they are chronically sold out of it, Pave Cheese (what the heck is that?) Don’t care. It comes in a really nice box and I think I like cheese in a box. It’s like a present.
And don’t even pass by those Salty Honey Toffee Milk Chocolate Covered Crackers. Buy a whole armload because they will be gone, gone, gone before you know it.
And a segue into MEtirement thoughts here. I am constantly amazed how it can be the middle of the day and I can sit with a cup of coffee or tea (depends on my mood) and eat a cookie or two. A respite in the middle of the day. Heck, I can read a book in daylight. Now there is a first after so many years of working in an office. Its been three months of lots of firsts. No endings here (even though the lifetime career has vanished into the ether.) Now there are just beginnings. A beginning of that new life that I have been fortunate enough to enjoy. And loving every minute of it!
So run out and buy those crackers. They look like cookies but Trader Joe’s calls them crackers. I think they don’t want you to feel like you are eating dessert. Repeat after me– A cracker isn’t dessert so have at it!
